I recently bought a new laptop and was so excited to shop for my new case.
As I hunted for laptop cases, I figured, this is the perfect time to make a list of all the high-quality cases I found to give you ideas too!
Lots of these laptop case ideas come in different sizes and for different types of laptops. So, whether you have a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or any other brand of laptop, you should be able to click into each option and find it in your laptop model’s size.

What are the most protective laptop cases?
In my experience, you’ll get the most protection for your laptop when you use the following combination for laptop protection:
- A hard case: This is like a shell that snaps right onto your laptop, overtop and underneath, so that if you were to ever drop it or bump it on something, it’s less likely to be nicked or dented. I will say that I’ve always used a hard shell case, and my husband goes without, and even as someone who is careful with his laptop, his has so many more dents and scratches than mine.
- A computer sleeve: This is a pouch that you put your laptop into whenever you’re not using it. I highly recommend this if you find yourself carrying your laptop around a lot (to work, to school, or when you travel). Even though you will likely put it in the sleeve and then in another bag that you’re carrying, the sleeve helps keep it safe from anything else in your bag leaking or bumping against it.
I’ve used a laptop shell PLUS a sleeve for years now and every laptop I’ve owned has stayed in amazing condition.

I had to start with this hard case because this is the exact shell case I bought for my new 15-inch MacBook Air!
The quality of the design was as pictured here and I haven't had any issues with this hard case at all. It fits perfectly and has done a great job of protecting my laptop so far over the first few months I've had it.
