When I moved into my first apartment last year, finding good curtains was an absolute pain! It was so hard to shop for curtains for apartments online while trying to figure out how much light I wanted to block, along with what style, color, and texture I wanted.

BEST CURTAINS FOR APARTMENTS:
1. Sheer Linen Curtains
I ended up buying curtains like these for my living room and absolutely love them.
If you want something that totally blocks light, these sheer curtains are not a good option. But the reason I love them for the living room is that they’re the perfect light filter for sunny days without totally blocking out the natural light.
If you’re looking for something that’s pretty in the sun but doesn’t 100% block the light, these sheer linen curtains are highly recommended!
2. Motorized Blackout Blinds
If you’re looking for something a bit more heavy-duty for the bedroom, these motorized blackout blinds are a great option.
They’re actually affordable for blackout blinds!
I can’t vouch for them myself, but they have great verified reviews saying that they’re easy to install and use.
3. Solid Room-Darkening Curtains
These are the exact curtains I have in my bedroom and I love them!
I wouldn’t say they’re 100% light-blocking, but more like 90%. Personally, I love that because it means that they block light adequately in the night but when I wake up, there’s still a subtle glow of light in my room to help me wake up.
This brand has these curtains in all kinds of solid colors so you’ll definitely be able to find something that fits your decor!

If you’re looking for curtains with a subtle design, these embroidered curtains are the way to go.
This design comes in a few different colors, so you’ll be able to find an option that suits your apartment. But how pretty would this subtle texture be?! Obsessed.
5. CUCRAF Insulated Curtains
Whether you want some extra protection against the heat in. the summer or the cold of the winter, insulated curtains are the way to go.
I’ve actually been thinking of getting curtains like this for our apartment, because we get really hot summers and really cold winters, so these curtains would be perfect any time of year!
6. Insulated Blackout Curtains with Tiebacks
I love curtains for apartment windows that come with a tieback!
These curtains are blackout, insulated, AND have a tieback for when you want to let the light in. What more could you want?!
7. Boho Macrame Curtains
If you’re looking for something a little boho, or you want unique curtains for apartment living room windows, these macrame curtains are super cute!
The Best Apartment Friendly Curtain Rods
It’s the WORST when you buy “apartment friendly” tension rods that don’t work (speaking from experience).
These tension rods have great reviews and seem to be functional without compromising style or how they look. A great option for apartment curtains!
