Best healthy cleaning products for apartments
This post is a non toxic cleaning product list.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve been trying to switch out my cleaning products for cleaner, healthier products. I’m still on my journey of finding new products, and I only wanted to include products that I’ve actually tested on this non toxic cleaning product list, so this blog post isn’t extensive. But, you can rest assured that all the products I recommend on this post are ones I truly love and stand by!!

NON TOXIC CLEANING PRODUCT LIST:
All-purpose cleaning supplies:
1. Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap
Uses for this product:
- Mopping floors
- Cleaning surfaces (counters)
- Cleaning bathroom appliances (sink, tub, showers, floors)
- Washing clothes/laundry
I love this soap (especially the peppermint one) because you can use it for almost anything. It’s one of the best non toxic cleaning products for apartment – since you can use it for so many different things, you don’t have to have tons of storage space for cleaning supplies!!
2. Murphy’s Wood Oil Cleaner
Uses for this product:
- Mopping floors
- Cleaning furniture (I’ve actually used this to clean my linen couches and it worked SO well)
3. White vinegar
Uses for this product:
- Cleaning counters
- Mopping floors
- Adding to laundry
I feel like this is one of the most well-known non toxic cleaning products, but still worth a mention! White vinegar is great to have on hand for whenever you need to quickly wipe down surfaces, or even to add to your laundry or floor mopping routine.
Scents:
4. Simmer Pot
I’ve been trying to rid my space of candles and other scented products that can often be unhealthy. I love making simmer pots because they’re a natural way to make your home smell amazing!!
Here are some great simmer pot ideas, including instructions on how to make a simmer pot.
Tools:
5. Microfiber cloths
Microfiber cloths are great to have on hand because you can use them for almost anything.
They’re great for collecting dust, cleaning your car, and cleaning stainless steel appliances.
6. All-purpose brushes
I bought these brushes on Amazon over a year ago and I use them for almost everything!
I used them to clean my linen couches (along with the cleaner listed in #2), and I keep one in the shower to scrub it down with the castille soap (listed in #1). These brushes work so well and are so versatile.
Laundry detergent:
7. Ecos hypoallergenic detergent
I recently started using this laundry detergent which might not be the cleanest one out there, but it is one of the better rated ones on EWG.
If you’re looking for a step up with your laundry detergent, this one is listed as nontoxic and it still makes your clothes smell good and fresh!
My favorite small & affordable vacuum for apartments:
I got this vacuum for my small apartment over a year ago. I love it because it’s really small, so it’s convenient for the minimal storage space I have, but it’s also still strong enough to really get the job done! And it’s super easy to empty when it gets gross.
